CALL FOR CONFERENCE PAPERS
Focus
Hong Kong has one of the largest water mains rehabilitation programmes in the
world. Much of the work is done in an urban busy environment. Installing and
rehabilitating pipes and cables beneath the streets by trenchless means require
novel techniques and much planning and liaison with the local authorities.
Delegates to this conference will have an opportunity to learn about the latest
developments in trenchless techniques for the installation and rehabilitation of
utility services from international experts in the field.
Conference
TRENCHLESS TECHNOLOGIES IN ASIA PACIFIC – HONG KONG 2009 will provide an
international forum for discussion on the latest techniques and developments in
trenchless technology. In addition to a number of technical papers, the
programme will highlight case studies of major projects already undertaken in
the Pacific Region as well as the rest of the world. The two-day programme will
be held on Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 November 2009. A social event is planned
to take place on Wednesday 18 November 2009.

Call for Papers
The main topic headings for the conference programme are as follows:
- Sustainability and environmental benefits of trenchless techniques
- Rehabilitation
- New techniques
- Condition survey and leakage detection
- Utility detection and mapping
- Regulatory aspects of streetworks
- Case studies
- Potential trenchless markets in Asia Pacific
The above topics are not exhaustive and papers which fall
within the general theme of the conference will be considered for presentation.
The conference consists of a series of presentations and discussions. The
official language of the conference is English but papers in Chinese are
welcome. The conference proceedings will be produced and made available at the
conference.
A synopsis (maximum of 200 words) together with a short biography of the
author’s relevant experience should be sent to the organizers no later than 1
May 2009. After the closing date, the organizing committee will provide a
detailed programme.
Conditions
- Papers will be accepted on the basis that the named author will attend the Conference in person to make the presentation.
- The main Conference language is English.

目標
香港擁有全世界規模最大的修復水管工程計劃，大部分工程都在繁忙的市區進行。運用非開挖技術在地下敷設及修復水管，需要創新科技及大量籌備工作，並有賴本地有關當局的合作。
研討會的與會人仕將有機會向著名業內專家學習最新的非開挖技術，了解敷設及修復公共供水設施的方法。
研討會
「2009亞太區非開挖技術及地下管道工程國際會議 -
締造持續美好環境」是一個國際論壇，討論非開挖技術的最新科技與發展。除了發表科技論文，研討會亦會針對亞太區與世界各地正在實施的大型計劃進行個案研究。研討會為期兩日，於2009年11月18日(星期三)
及11月19日(星期四)舉行。大會亦計劃於2009年11月18日(星期三)安排一項社交活動。
